The student council elections and result announcement that took place on the 23rd and 27th of January 2020, respectively.

Azadi Cup Tournament was organized by Sports Club, Faculty of Pharmacy. Teams from Faculty of Pharmacy, MBBS and DPT competed in cricket and throw ball matches. Cricket tournament was won by Faculty of Pharmacy while DPT team won the throw ball tournament. The event was inaugurated by Dean Faculty, Prof Dr Rafeeq Alam Khan.

Independence Day was celebrated by Faculty of Pharmacy. The celebrations were commenced with the Plantation Ceremony organized by the Community and Welfare Club, in the garden area adjacent to the building of Faculty of Pharmacy. Trees were planted by the Dean of Faculty, Prof. Dr Rafeeq Alam Khan, Advisor to Chancellor, Dr Anwar Ejaz Beg, other senior faculty members and members of the club. This was followed by an event organized by Leisure Club and Literary Club. Various speeches, national songs and skits were performed by the students. The celebrations were concluded by cake cutting ceremony and lunch.

Students of final year attended a session on “The Way Ahead – Career Choices for Pharmacy Graduates”. This session was arranged by the department of Professional Development and Career Services.

Interviews were held for the selection of members for Scientific Club by Club Incharge, Dr Uzair Nisar, along with a panel of experts selected from within the faculty members. Students from all batches participated actively.

15^th and 16^th July 2019

Incharge Sports Club Dr. Najeeb Kattiyan, conducted trials in collaboration with the Sports Manger Mr. Zubair Ishaque for the selection of throw ball team for girls and formation of boy’s cricket team. Students from all batches were given equal opportunity in the selection process of these teams.

19^th July 2019

A friendly match was arranged between the cricket teams of MBBS and Pharm D at the Clifton Playing Area.

23^rd July 2019

Interviews were held for the selection of members for Leisure Club by Club Incharge, Dr Arif Sabah, along with a panel of experts selected from within the faculty members. Students from all batches participated actively

24^th July 2019

Dr. Sarah Haroon, Incharge Welfare Club conducted interviews to select members for Community and Welfare Club along with a panel of experts selected from within the faculty members. Students from all batches participated actively.

25^th July 2019

Dr. Nayel, along with a panel of experts held interviews for the selection of members of Alumni Club. Students from all batches participated actively.

31^st July 2019

A guidance and counseling session was arranged for the students of fifth year. Dr Nadeem Ahmed Khan, a member of our alumni and currently working as Executive Brand Category Manager, in Consumer Healthcare Sanofi Pharmaceuticals, was invited as the guest speaker.

The Ziauddin University Faculty of Pharmacy hosted commencement day of Pharm.D (Batch-XV) 2019 for 100 new coming students at Ziauddin University.

Chief Guest of the event, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Chairman Brooks Pharma in his address says, “Pakistanis are the intelligent nation of the world and we are lucky to have 54% of youngsters in our country. We are blessed to have a rich resourced country in the world all you have to do is to discover it with your hard work.”

“I congratulate to your parents for taking excellent decision to choose this respectable and noble profession for you. Now it’s your responsibility to help humanity and make your parents proud after graduation”, he added.

While talking about pharmaceutical business in Pakistan, the Guest of Honor, Dr Khalid Mahmood, Technical Director Bayer Pakistan, exposed that “we have 759 national and international pharmaceutical companies which are giving 3.1 billion industry businesses to our economy and annual growing rate of pharmaceutical companies is 11%.”

Directly talking to the new batch he advised them that Commitment, vision, objective and professionalism are the main key factors which they all have to keep in their minds to become a successful pharmacist.

On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor, Ziauddin University, while addressing to the students said “Unluckily we have 25 million children who have never visited schools and this number is continuously increasing with each passing day. 46 % students are those who are college dropouts. You all are lucky to get yourselves enrolled in one of the biggest university of Pakistan. All credit of your successes to reach this level goes to your parents. You all should be thankful to them.”

Earlier, Prof. Dr Anwar Ejaz Baig, Advisor to Chancellor, in his welcome speech, congratulated 15th batch of Pharm.D said “I hope after spending 5 years in Ziauddin University, you all will become experts of pharmacy and drugs, you will retain the name of Ziauddin University and its faculty. You will lighten up the name of Sir Dr Ziauddin Ahmed who played vital role in the field of education.”

Nations celebrate national days to rejoice and celebrate the fruits of freedom and progress. On August 14th, Pakistanis commemorate the success of their struggle for independent state. 14th August is certainly a time for every Pakistani to review the rich and dynamic Pakistan. Faculty of Pharmacy, Ziauddin University also celebrated this day with zeal and zest.
